About the event

The Mormon Battalion Historic Site represents

San Diego’s first United States military unit

garrisoned in San Diego – The Mormon Battalion,

U.S. Army of the West. The four honorees this

year are: Bill Ridenour, a WWII veteran, and his

wife Rosie (both 101); Dan Foster, Vietnam

veteran; and Carlos Taitano, a Gulf War veteran.
