About The Event

We have a great opportunity for our musically talented youth in September. Once a month the SD Mission puts on a music festival for the community. It is held at the Mormon Battalion Historic Site and is much like a jazz festival. The music can be heard by visitors in the area, who many times come to see where the music is coming from and stay to enjoy the event. It is called INSPIRE and is filled with uplifting and fun non-denominational musical selections with some of the selections designed for audience participation.
The next INSPIRE event will be held in the outdoor area behind The Mormon Battalion Historic Site on Sept. 13th from 7-8pm. The theme of the Sept. INSPIRE event is "service". The SD Mission office is looking for youth soloists, musicians and ensemble singers to perform musical selections for this fun event.
They are looking for:
Musicians to perform individually and/or with a group (there is a real need for a saxophone player for one particular song)
Singers to perform individually and/or with a group
Youth are being asked first, but families and adults are welcome too
Neighbors and friends not of our faith are absolutely welcome as well
All who are interested in performing at this fun event are to contact Sister Armenay Merritt at the SD Mission office right away.
